Thanks Lauren, we're doing ok. Moving slowly towards a tentative excitement at the moment. Nice to be back writing and having even a sliver of space to do so. Feeling grateful. xo
Why are you leaving? I can relate to this in a sense. All the hard work I poured into our old home, the memories we made there, growing kids and homeschooling, and we moved to a new state. It’s been a good change but I miss our old home sometimes. Or maybe I miss that time of life. Where things were busier and I was younger and my kids were still all little. It’s true we can hold two feelings at once. I am sad that life has flown by and I’m happy to be where I am. Life is so bittersweet. I wish you the best. ♥️
Reluctantly! Honesty, I think I cried for about 3 months straight when we first made the decision early last year. I thought this would be our forever home.
Sadly, our community is changing rapidly - the city is catching up with us. We live in an agricultural land reserve, but despite all the legal 'protections' our neighbourhood farms are being gobbled up by mansions and folks cutting their pastures like they're lawns. Our 1892 farmhouse needs a fortune worth of work and we know we won't be able to actively farm here much longer due to gentrification.
So ya, super sad to leave what is a great community, but we are moving to a beautiful region full of lakes in the mountains - we will be closer to family, be able to have a bigger farm and most importantly - be mortgage-free in our early 40s! Knowing how much that will bring to our lives has made it worth the heartache.
Welcome back Stacey! Thank you for sharing your heart ache with us! We see you xx
Thanks - we're doing good. It's going to be an adventure, that's for sure. xo
Sending you love in the transition Stacey, and it’s lovely to see your words again even though I appreciate they must be painful to share. Xx

That’s amazing! So sad about your community. I hope you find the new home is everything you want!
