Such a beautiful letter for a Sunday morning. I read this sitting by the river, which happened to be extra calm today. I write a few things, The Nature of Things touches on topics on life and nature and where we fit in, Ink smears is my personal journal and writing outlet, Cook My Book Club is a passion project with a few friends, passionate about really good home cooking and building friendships through food as a medium. We swap homes every Tuesday, cooking for each other and crafting a collaborative cookbook together one recipe at a time. I’ll share links below if any of them are of interest! Thanks so much. Love and cherish your writings, and while we’re currently saving all our extra pennies for our small wedding this December, I wholeheartedly intend to become a paid subscriber as soon as my budget allows. Thank you again for sharing your words.
Fearfully forward ... I love it and feel like I also need to write it onto my fridge now 😂 I'm so glad to have come across your beautiful work and am excited to continue reading x
I'm so grateful to have found you in this space, Stacey. Your writing is beautiful, as is your heart! I love your saying, "fearfully forward" and I definitely need to apply that to my life more. I can't wait to see all you create here!!
Ahhh this really mirrors how I feel about this community. It sounds bold to say it but in the five months I’ve been here I feel a profound shift in my creativity, my sense of support and just overall confidence in writing! It’s been life changing!!! Xxx
Your writing is so nourishing, Stacey! I’ve just discovered you and subscribed the other day and really look forward to exploring your older posts. I’m all here for a slower life and explore it in my writing as well.
I live in a small, semi-rural beach settlement called Peka Peka on the Kāpiti Coast of New Zealand. I'm an educator - I work with teachers and school leaders to help them prioritise the connection between themselves and the learners so they can build contexts for learning that help kids become themselves in technicolour. My newsletter riffs on that topic: The Idiosyncratic Classroom: https://smata.substack.com/
I've only just discovered Slow Folk. What you're writing about definitely strikes a chord with my thinking!
I just recently discovered your Substack and I'm very excited to follow along! I began writing on Substack a month ago and post every Tuesday. https://reidcox.substack.com
Hi, I'm Lydia! I'm so excited to read your work, as the slow life is something I've been craving for years and am FINALLY getting to creep into myself, toddler and new business and all ha. I write The Psychology of Thriving, a newsletter devoted to the research behind creating a thriving career that works for the rest of your life. I write a lot about fulfillment, slowing down, stress management, and work/life balance. I'm newer to substack too! https://thriveculturecoach.substack.com/
Only about a month and a half in and it has been a whirlwind. Just feels like home. SO glad to not feel the pressure to write 'listicles' any more! Looking forward to checking out your work.
Yep, making friends with fear seems to be key to living a wholehearted life. Right this moment having a complete terror fearfully forward as I'm about to launch a new website and be featured in a case study going out to over a million subscribers!!! ACK. Sometimes we just gotta hold on for dear life and enjoy the ride.
