What if you could root yourself in a routine that felt gentle and nourishing?

Watching the Great Blue Herons make their daily pilgrimage over the farm this morning.

It got me thinking about routines and habits in our lives as multi-passionate / neurodivergent creatives and entrepreneurs.

So many creatives I work with at Slow Folk prickle at the suggestion of building the rhythm of routine into their daily life. As multi-passionate human beings, we often feel that any kind of routines or boundaries will hem us in.

The thing is - in my experience, routines and habits aren’t restricting - they’re freeing.

If the idea of a colour-coded, time-blocked bullet journal makes you break out in hives - it’s ok. You can embrace routines in way that feels nourishing, gentle and affirming of your creative nature.

The herons fly over head twice a day, every day. But never the same way twice.

They root themselves in the rhythm of the seasons, not the clock.

What if we could do the same? Ground ourselves in a larger rhythm, remove decision fatigue, practice showing up for our creative inspiration consistently so that it knows when to meet us?

Embracing routines, rhythms and nourishing habits won’t make you lose your spark.

It will fan your flames.
